"Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching." 2 Timothy 4:2 NLT
What story are you telling as you go about your day?
In the scripture above, Paul was teaching Timothy about the importance of connecting our story to God's story and letting the noise we make be the noise God is making. This young pastor was being encouraged to keep the main thing the main thing. He was being encouraged to be open and ready to be used by God.
Finally, he was being reminded to take his learning and use it to build up those around him. Use your learnings to build up those around you to strengthen your circle. How can you connect God's word to your story today? How can God use you to see his story extended into your world? To the people you come in contact with? The people you work with everyday? Your family? Friends? Those you are texting and emailing everyday? How can you take his Word and use it to inspire and influence those on the receiving end of your communications, to encourage them and connect them to God's story?
God, make me a person of your Word. When I read it, let it read me. When I hear it, let it pierce my soul and translate for your good. Make your Word the living Word for me and for those that I come in contact with today, so that I can learn your ways and help others discover them. To help them uncover the desires of their hearts.
